Police Day Day Message Theme: Invest In Peace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day

On Police Day, we join the Seychelles Police Force in celebrating the men and women who stand watch over our communities and way of life.
To wear the police uniform is an honour. It represents a commitment to protect our people, uphold the law, prevent crime, protect life and maintain public order. It is a responsibility that calls for courage, discipline, integrity and sacrifice.

This year’s theme, “Invest in Peace – For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day,” reminds us that peace is not a distant ideal but a daily commitment – one built through vigilance, trust and service. It is not merely the absence of crime and conflict. It is the presence of visible security, mutual respect and trust within our communities.
Police officers experience the same challenges, emotions and hopes that are part of the human experience. You are parents, children, friends, neighbours and members of the very communities you serve. Never lose sight of this, as you are not separate from the community. You are part of it.
The authority you carry must always be balanced by humanity. The way you speak to someone, exercise your authority and respond in difficult moments can build trust and make a lasting difference.

I therefore remind every officer that you have the power to initiate the change you want to see. Change begins with each of us, through the standards we uphold, the example we set and the way we treat others.

My wish for the Seychelles Police Force is to be effective in enforcing the law, respected for your professionalism and trusted for the way you serve our people.
I pay special tribute to the officers who sacrifice all in the line of duty, as well as to their families, whose patience and support enable them to serve. We also honour the memory of the officers who are no longer with us but whose service and dedication have helped shape the Seychelles Police Force.

Let us remain firm in our duty without losing our compassion, and strong in enforcing the law without losing what makes us human and what makes us Seychellois.
As we observe this year’s theme, let us remember that investing in peace means investing in safety, trust, justice and respect every day.
To all members of the Seychelles Police Force, thank you for your service, commitment and sacrifice. Together, let us invest in peace for everyone, everywhere, every day.

Happy Police Day.
