Official Overseas Mission to Dubai Strengthens Cooperation in Security and Technology

The Minister for Homeland Security and Civil Affairs, Mr. James Camille, together with the Principal Secretary for Homeland Security, Ms. Sheryl Vangadasamy, undertook an official overseas mission to Dubai to participate in the World Governments Summit 2026.

As part of the programme, the Minister participated in the Global Government Regulatory and Justice Forum panel session entitled “How can the Rule of Law Adapt with Global Transformation?”, which addressed the challenges and opportunities facing legal and regulatory systems in an evolving global environment.

In addition to the main sessions, the delegation held several bilateral meetings with senior officials and technical partners from the United Arab Emirates. Discussions focused on the use of emerging technologies, cybersecurity infrastructure, digital systems within the police force, information sharing, and opportunities for cooperation in the areas of capacity building and technical exchange.

The mission also included official site visits to Dubai’s Civil defense headquarters, as well as the world’s first fully unmanned smart police station, which operates through the use of artificial intelligence and advanced technological systems.

The engagements form part of the Government of Seychelles’ ongoing efforts to modernise the national security sector and to strengthen international partnerships in support of institutional development and technological advancement
